It is, if you try to read everything at once. After three evenings you have dozens of technical terms in your head, but still haven’t made a single trade. That’s typical — and it’s exactly the trap 80% of beginners fall into: “I’ll just quickly read this chapter on fundamentals, and this one on chart analysis, and this one on options…” — and after three months you’re just as far as at the beginning, only more frustrated.

This chapter is your compass. It tells you what to read when — and, equally important, what you CAN IGNORE. Not every chapter is equally important for every reader, and certainly not at the same time. Some topics (e.g. futures, iron condors, stream deck) seem fascinating, but for beginners they’re pure distraction.

The path below leads you through seven phases from absolute zero knowledge to your first real trade and beyond, to conservative options. Each phase has a clear learning objective, required reading, optional deep dives — and a “not now” list, so you know where you can safely look away. Follow the path, and in 3 months you’ll have achieved more than most hobby traders in three years.

For advanced users: If you’re already trading (e.g. stocks for years) → jump directly to the chapter that interests you. The path below is for complete beginners. Use the table of contents on the left as a springboard — all chapters are written to work individually as well.

You understand what sTraderZ.com offers, you have a broker account in prospect (or already set up), and you’ve found your way into the app.

This is the shortest phase — one hour, no more. The goal is that by the end of the day you know where the journey is headed, and you don’t already close the handbook after five minutes feeling overwhelmed. Read the first two chapters through once, casually. You don’t need to memorize anything, configure anything, or buy anything. Just get an overview and explore the app.

Also Useful

Not Now

  • Detailed setup (Flex Query at IBKR, API keys, automations)
  • Strategy setup, configuring dashboards, creating templates

学習目標: 株を購入するときに何を所有しているかを説明できますtock or ETF, and what costs are involved.

Before you put money in, you need to understand what you’re actually buying. What is a stock legally? What is an ETF technically? How does your broker make money from you — through spread, order commission, custody fee, foreign currency markup? Why can a supposedly “cheap” broker actually be more expensive than an “expensive” one? These questions aren’t glamorous, but anyone who can’t answer them will overpay for years.

Take a week. Read the foundation chapter through completely once and work through the fee examples for your own planned broker. When you know at the end what a €1,000 ETF purchase actually costs you in total (including spread and foreign currency), you’re done.

Not Now

  • Futures, CFDs, forex, crypto — all of that comes later in Phase 6 (or not at all)
  • Options and warrants — Chapter 9, only after solid stock basics

学習目標: 1回のトレードで許容できる損失額を知っていますrd, and why a −50% drawdown requires +100% gain to recover.

This is the most important phase of the entire path. If you skip through here, you’ll burn real money in Phase 3. Most beginners skip risk and want “returns” straight away — and that’s exactly why 80% fail in their first year. Not you. You do it the other way: risk first, then returns.

Specifically, you’ll learn the 1R rule: how many euros you can lose maximum per trade, how this becomes your position size, and where the stop-loss goes. Calculate your personal 1R number and write it next to your monitor. Every trade starts with a look at this number.

Also Useful

Not Now

  • Kelly criterion depth, volatility scaling, correlation matrix — all from Chap. 6 belong in Phase 6 or later
  • Hedging strategies, options hedging — way too early

学習目標: 初めてのETF購入を完了しましたws up in the app, and taxes are clear to you.

Now it gets serious. After two weeks of theory you press the buy button. Important: No single-stock experiment, no “hot tip”, no options. Your first trade is a broadly diversified ETF (e.g. MSCI World or S&P 500) in a position size that corresponds to your 1R rule from Phase 2. This is deliberately boring — and exactly the right start for that reason.

Afterward you check how the trade lands in the app. Is it automatically imported (IBKR Flex Query)? Do you need to type it in manually (Trade Republic)? What does the journal look like? Take time to get the import flow running cleanly — this saves you hours per week later on.

Required Reading

Also Useful

Not Now

  • Single-stock trading — only after at least 3 months of ETF routine
  • Timing attempts (“I’ll wait for the dip”) — for Phase 3 this applies: one fixed purchase, holding period at least 3 months, no games

学習目標: トレンド、サポート/レジスタンスを認識できますandful of candle signals, and you keep a journal of your trades.

After your first trade you’ll look at your ETF chart more often — and notice that lines and candles aren’t random. Now is the moment to learn this systematically. Warning: Chart analysis is a rabbit hole. You can spend months studying ever more sophisticated indicators — and end up trading worse than at the start. Stick to the basics.

Five concepts are enough: trend (up, down, sideways), support/resistance (zones where price turns), moving averages (e.g. 50/200-day line), a few candle formations (doji, engulfing, hammer), and volume. That’s all you need for the first few years. At the same time, start a trade journal — every trade is noted with entry reason, stop, and target price.

Required Reading

Also Useful

  • Advanced chart patterns from Chap. 5 — if you’re already solid in the basics after two weeks

Not Now

Stochastic, Ichimoku — too many indicators dilute focus
  • Elliott waves, Fibonacci extensions, harmonic patterns — pure confirmation bias generator

それはそれらが bad or unimportant — they’re just not relevant for the classic beginner route. Here’s the explanation of why each one fell out of the path:

  • Chap. 10 先物 — leverage is not necessary for beginners. Only after secure options handling in Phase 6 as an optional deep dive.
  • Chap. 4 Market Analysis — only relevant when you’re trading individual stocks instead of ETFs. Not a topic in Phase 3/4, comes in Phase 6.
  • Chap. 9 Spreads/Condors (advanced parts) — after 3+ months of CSP/CC experience. Before that you won’t understand the trade-offs.
  • Chap. 13 Stream Deck — power-user feature for physical buttons at your desk. Not for beginners, but for traders who execute many trades daily.
  • Chap. 10 Troubleshooting — look up as needed, don’t read through. Useful when something’s broken; pointless as study material.
ℹ️ Important: “Not on the path” does not mean “never read”. It just means “not at the start”. When you’ve reached Phase 6 and are executing e.g. 20 options trades daily, Chap. 13 Stream Deck suddenly becomes extremely useful. Time and situation determine what’s relevant right now.

Where to next?

If you’ve read this chapter, the next concrete step is: Start Phase 0. Open Chap. 1 Welcome and read for an hour, relaxed. Nothing big, nothing complicated. Just a beginning.
