1. 🪙 Dlaczego Połączyć Binance?

Binance is the largest crypto exchange in the world and for many DACH-region traders the first port of call for spot trading and HODLing. sTraderZ.com connects to Binance via the official read-only API — meaning we only read trades, wallet balances, and order history. It is technically impossible for us to execute trades, withdraw funds, or transfer coins, because trade and withdrawal permissions are never requested.

⚠️ Tax notes upfront: Crypto gains in DE/AT/CH fall under private disposal transactions or speculation tax with their own rules (e.g. 1-year holding period in DE, BMF decree 2025 in AT). sTraderZ.com helps with tracking — the tax assessment itself must be reviewed by you or a tax advisor. More in Chapter 6 Taxes.

Binance is not a BaFin/FMA/FINMA-regulated exchange — it operates primarily through subsidiaries in Lithuania (BaFin license application pending) and Poland. For beginners: Crypto is not the right place for your first 100 EUR of your trading career. But if you have made a conscious decision to trade crypto and already have an account, the API connection is done in 5–10 minutes.

2. Wymagania Wstępne

  • Existing Binance account with completed KYC verification ("Verified" or higher). Without verification, the API feature is locked.
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) — either Google Authenticator, Yubikey, or Binance/Authy. Required for API creation.
  • Static IP address or VPS (recommended) — if you want to use IP whitelisting (highly recommended, see Step 3).
  • 10 minutes — setup is quick, but should be done carefully.

Tworzenie Klucza API na Binance

1. Log in to Binance → click your profile icon in the top right → API Management.

2. Create a new API key → click "Create API" → select type "System generated" (not Self-Generated, which is for advanced use cases).

3. Set a label: e.g. "sTraderZ Read-Only".

4. 2FA confirmation: Confirm via Google Authenticator + email code.

5. API Key + Secret are displayed — you will only see the Secret ONCE. Store it securely (password manager).

Prawidłowe Ustawienie Uprawnień

IMPORTANT — Only enable this one permission:

✅ "Enable Reading" (Read-Only Permission)

Leave all other permissions disabled:

❌ Permit Universal Transfer

This ensures: even if the API key falls into the wrong hands, nobody can place trades or withdraw coins — only read the history.

Biała Lista IP (Mocno Zalecane)

If you have a static IP (at home via router config or VPS):

• Select "Restrict access to trusted IPs only"
• Enter the IP address of sTraderZ.com:
   185.xxx.xxx.xxx (exact IP found in your account configuration)
• Save

If no static IP is available: leave it as "Unrestricted", but then Read-Only permission is your only protection layer. This is acceptable since no trades are possible anyway — but a static IP is the cleaner solution.

Accounts → + New Account → Select broker: "Binance" → Save.

Account overview → click Binance account → Tab Configuration → paste API Key and Secret from your password manager → Save.

Click "Sync now". The initial sync loads the last 12 months — depending on trade volume this takes 30 sec to 2 min.

From now on, sync runs regularly in the background. New trades, wallet movements, and conversions are captured automatically.

8. Najlepsze Praktyki Bezpieczeństwa

Three rules that protect you from 99% of crypto API disasters:

1. Never enable "Enable Withdrawals". Even if a service asks for it — say no. Withdrawals require a separate whitelist on the Binance side anyway, but if the key is compromised and you have enabled withdrawals, it's game over.

2. Treat the API Secret like a password — use a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePass), never store it in plain text anywhere, never share it via email/Slack/Telegram.

3. Rotate every 90 days. Binance keys don't technically expire, but rotate them as a matter of discipline. Delete the old key, create a new one, update it in sTraderZ.com — takes 3 minutes.

Synchronizacja Nie Działa — Co Teraz?

Error: "Invalid API-key, IP, or permissions for action"
Most common cause: you have IP whitelisting enabled but have not added our IP. Fix: Go to Binance → API Management → IP whitelist → add our IP (see account configuration).

Error: "Signature for this request is not valid"
API Secret entered incorrectly. A trailing space is often copied along when copy-pasting. Solution: copy the secret again from your password manager, paste it, save.

Error: "Account has insufficient permissions"
You created the API key without "Enable Reading" — easy to miss when other permissions are being disabled. Solution: In Binance → edit key → enable "Enable Reading".

Initial sync running very long (> 5 minutes):
For large accounts with > 10,000 trades, the initial synchronization genuinely takes longer. Just let it run — after that, incremental sync (every 10 min) is very fast.

ℹ️ My pitch for Bitpanda — if you live in DE/AT, are new to crypto, and want hassle-free tax reporting, Bitpanda is almost always the better choice over Binance. Binance makes more sense once you have higher trading volumes and need the lowest fees. Running both simultaneously is perfectly legitimate.
