❓ คำถามที่พบบ่อย

คำตอบสำหรับคำถามที่พบบ่อย

❓ I recorded a trade, but the numbers don't add up. What's wrong?

Check the following points: (1) Is the date correct? (2) Are the quantities and prices entered correctly? (3) Have you accounted for fees/commissions? For example, if you buy 100 shares at €100 and pay €2 in fees, you should enter "Fees: €2". Then the math automatically works out.

❓ Why does my account balance here differ from my broker?

There can be several reasons: (1) Dividends or interest not recorded as trades. (2) Fees or interest not recorded. (3) Currency conversion if you trade in different currencies. (4) You haven't recorded all trades. Check your broker account statements and compare with your recorded trades.

❓ I see red and green numbers. What do these mean?

GREEN = Profit (your money grows). RED = Loss (your money shrinks). DARK GRAY/WHITE = Neutral (purchase, profit/loss not yet calculated). You'll get used to scanning these colors and quickly understanding how you're doing.

❓ Can I delete old trades?

Yes, but we don't recommend it. Your old trades are important data for your analysis and learning. If a trade has an error, edit it instead of deleting it. Most users only delete accidentally recorded trades.

❓ What is "Margin" and why is it important?

Margin is money you can borrow from your broker to trade bigger. If you have €10,000 capital and use 2x margin, you can trade with €20,000. This can amplify profits but also losses! If your account shrinks too much, your broker forces you to close positions (margin call). Use margin carefully!

❓ I transferred a position from one account to another at Interactive Brokers. How is this shown in sTraderZ.com?

sTraderZ.com automatically detects a position transfer between two of your own IB accounts as soon as both accounts are synchronized via Flex Query — IB includes the transfer in the export. It appears on both accounts in the "Transfers" tab of the account detail page: as an outflow on the old account, as an inflow on the new one. (1) If both accounts in sTraderZ.com are assigned to the same person (Accounts → Persons), the origin is detected automatically and the original acquisition date along with the costs moves over to the new account — the holding period is preserved, and your tax report keeps calculating correctly. (2) If the automatic assignment exceptionally does not work (e.g. when switching the custody provider), you can manually select an "origin account" on the inflow in the Transfers tab. Important: the original purchase trades themselves stay on the old account, they are not physically moved — in the trade history of the new account you see the transfer entry instead. The history remains traceable nonetheless, via the linked accounts and the tax report.

Special case: The tax report shows "no documented acquisition costs", although I definitely acquired the position through my other IB account. This can happen when IBKR itself does not report the internal transfer between two separately held individual accounts anywhere as a transaction. You will find a detailed explanation, a self-diagnosis checklist and next steps in the chapter “Setting up Interactive Brokers” → “Sold position without acquisition costs, after a transfer between two of your own IB accounts”.

❓ I have several IB accounts. Do I need several Flex Queries or several accounts in sTraderZ.com?

No. One Flex Query with all your IB accounts selected and one IB account in sTraderZ.com are enough. Every record in the Flex Query carries the IB account number. During import, sTraderZ.com assigns the data by this number and automatically creates a separate account for every additional IB account. This applies to the XML upload as well as to the automatic Flex Sync.

If you have already created the accounts yourself, they are reused. Requirement: the account number is entered exactly as at IB (e.g. U1234567). Otherwise the import creates an additional account.

Good to know:
(1) Automatically created accounts take over the currency of the account you import into. If an IB account has a different base currency, adjust it afterwards.
(2) You can rename the accounts at any time.
(3) Store the query ID and the Flex token for one account only. The other accounts are filled during the import and do not need a token of their own.
(4) Two separate queries work as well, but are not necessary.

❓ Who can read my trading data in vault mode?

Between processing runs, no one at our end can open the encrypted trading data: only your devices and your recovery code hold the key. During a session that your device starts, the data is in plaintext on the server. With the stored Flex access, sTraderZ.com can also retrieve new data from Interactive Brokers. Our host’s backup copies are overwritten เมื่อพ้นระยะเวลาเก็บรักษาของผู้ให้บริการโฮสติ้งของเรา.

❓ What happens if I lose all devices and the recovery code?

Then the encrypted archive can no longer be read, and we cannot open it either. You can delete the vault under Profile → Security with your password, a confirmation word and, if enabled, two-factor authentication. The account is then empty in normal mode, and the Flex retrieval fetches the last 365 days from Interactive Brokers again.

❓ Why can’t I split or merge cycles for vault accounts?

Cycle corrections (split, merge, reassign, delete) are not available for vault accounts. The client also does not yet show positions, performance and dividends. You create the tax report in the client under “Tax reports”: the figures stay on your device, the PDF (summary or proof) is saved on your device and opens in the viewer, where you can save or print it. For the other tasks, move the account back to normal mode via the way back.

❓ Can I go back from vault mode to normal mode?

Yes. In the client you can return an account to normal mode at any time. Switching to vault mode is currently available to testers only.

❓ Where can I see what has happened to my vault?

The account log is under Profile → Security (section “Vault”) and in the client: sessions, device changes, mode changes and deletions, without the content of your trading data.
