Frequently asked questions

I recorded a trade, but the numbers don't add up. What's wrong?

Check the following points: (1) Is the date correct? (2) Are the quantities and prices entered correctly? (3) Have you accounted for fees/commissions? For example, if you buy 100 shares at €100 and pay €2 in fees, you should enter "Fees: €2". Then the math automatically works out.

Warum unterscheidet sich mein Kontostand hier de la meinem Broker?

This can have several reasons: (1) Dividends or interest that are not recorded as trades. (2) Fees or interest that are not recorded. (3) Currency conversion if you trade in multiple currencies. (4) You have not recorded all trades. Check your broker account statements and compare them with your recorded trades.

I see red and green numbers. What do these mean?

GREEN = Profit (your money is growing). RED = Loss (your money is shrinking). DARK GREY/WHITE = Neutral (buy, no profit/loss calculated yet). You will get used to scanning these colors and quickly understanding how you are doing.

Kann ich alte Tranzacții ștergere?

Yes, but we do not recommend it. Your old trades are important data for your analysis and learning. If a trade contains an error, edit it instead of deleting it. Most users only delete trades that were recorded by mistake.

Was ist "Margin" și warum ist es important?

Margin is money you can borrow from your broker to trade larger positions. If you have $10,000 in capital and use 2x margin, you can trade with $20,000. This can amplify profits, but also losses! If your account shrinks too much, the broker forces you to close positions (margin call). Use margin carefully!
